Why We Created 20mg/ml and 30mg/ml GS-441524 ?
-
Preventing Under-Dosage Deaths: Our new 20mg/ml and 30mg/ml
-
formulations are designed to address the risk of under-dosage, particularly in non-effusive Dry FIP cases where the severity of the infection can be challenging to evaluate accurately.
-
Reducing Relapses: Higher concentrations help reduce relapses caused by prolonged under-dosage during the 12-week treatment period. Ensuring the correct dosage from the start can be the difference between full recovery and a return of the disease.
-
Combating Neurological FIP: Neurological FIP cases require stronger dosages to halt aggressive viral replication in the central nervous system. The 30mg/ml formulation, in particular, is effective in delivering the higher doses needed for these severe cases.
-
Less Painful Injections: For larger cats needing more GS, our higher concentration formulations reduce the volume required per injection, thereby decreasing the pain and stress associated with each dose. This also simplifies the administration process for cat owners.
-
Making Treatment Affordable: By offering higher concentrations, we aim to make FIP treatment more cost-effective, enabling more cat owners to afford the life-saving medication for their pets.
How Does It Work?
Over the past two months, FIPcureplus.com has tested our new 20mg/ml and 30mg/ml formulations on 12 cats across 6 countries. The study included male and female cats with diverse conditions: 4 with wet FIP, 2 with dry FIP, 2 with ocular FIP, 3 with neurological FIP, and 1 relapse case. Out of the 12 cats treated, 11 are currently healthy and nearing the end of their treatment, including one cat who gave birth to 4 kittens while on our new formulation. Unfortunately, one cat passed away due to liver jaundice shortly after starting treatment.
What is GS-441524?
GS-441524 is an antiviral medication specifically designed to combat the feline infectious peritonitis virus (FIPV). Our new formulations come in 20mg/ml and 30mg/ml concentrations, each contained in vials of ≥7ml. These higher concentrations have been developed based on extensive review and analysis of treatment outcomes from hundreds of cats worldwide. The 20mg/ml and 30mg/ml formulations reduce the volume needed per injection, making the treatment process smoother and more comfortable for both cats and their owners.
